Gabi had successfully birthed 8 puppies 5 boys 3 girls July 31, 20149

Gabi's puppies were born July 31st. We expected 10 based from x-ray taken. Gabi started her labor around 1:22am. By 10:13am she had given birth to 7 puppies. Still three more to go. We waited several hours for pups #8, 9, 10 to be born. We went to vet for oxytocin injection which within 15 mins #8 pup was born alive. After a few more hours, #9 was born but was stillborn. By the next day about 12 hours later, #10 pup came and was deceased also.

Possible resasons this happened is pups were bigger than prior litter, much bigger. The last 3 were quite large and Gabi got tired; exhausted from the 1st 8. So Gabi struggled getting these pups out and I had to assist her with them making sure they did. Birthing is not easy task for dogs as those not knowing the process. Gabi has 8 wonderful black/rust/mahogany coat colors puppies. 5 boys and 3 girls. FYI

This litter of puppies are from European pedigree lines. Mister was imported as a pup and is regeristerd both FCI and AKC. Gabi is registered AKC. Gabi's sire is FCI/AKC. Both Gabi and Mister come from excellent working lines of Eastern Europe, Russian, Canadian, Italian pedigree parents. Both show and working lines. Both Gabi and Mister are non aggressive but hold the ability of the Doberman guarding or just being a super companion, and super temperments. Gabi has excelled in obedience since she started training at 4 months, and soon will try her events with confirmation and AKC community tests. Gabi has earned her AKC CGC just after age 2 yrs. Mister has earned his AKC CGC before age 1 1/2 yrs. Mister's personality is gentle, curious, and wanting to learn all about his surroundings. We look forward to see how these puppies grow.

Weeks 1 - 3

Gabi has been a great momma to her puppies. She has spent so much time with them growing and making changes in her whelping area for her puppies are big and got bigger earch week. Puppy whelping collars changed to small or toy size collars and now they are starting their weaning stage with formula and soft dog food from THE HONEST KITCHEN. Their teeth have come in and they are all playing with each other. At 3 1/2 weeks their weights are from 4 lbs to 5 1/2 lbs. Their growth is awesome at this stage and collars are changing with it. Gabi during her first 2 weeks of mothering recieved stitches to one of her teats. Antibiotics and stitches removed this coming week.

Week 4 - Weaning stage is continuing. Puppies teeth are in, and they are able to eat soft kibble foods. Puppies are eating a variety of foods - Royal Canin Gestation/Lactation kibbles, The Honest Kitchen, raw ground meats (chicken/turkey/beef), cooked chicken, cooked eggs, some wet canned food. They will be weaned into Victor Professional all life stages kibbles. They are playing, and growing nicely. I am using a dremel to trim their nails and so far they don't mind it. Their weights are from 5 1/2 lbs to 7 lbs. The 3 girls are super sweet and nice size at 4 weeks, and the boys are going to be very nice size. Of course all depending upon how they will be raised.

Week 5 - Gabi is starting her process of fully weaning her puppies and is now doing role playing as the puppies are more playing with each other. Gabi has continued her weaning and only goes to them several times a day. They eat and sleep and play. They are almost into the full wean stage coming up in the next week phase. Some collars changed colors for my fave store Walmart is extremely low on these kinds of collars. All noted in each pup picture when colors change.

Week 6 - coming up are the pups 6 weeks health exam, vaccination, microchip, worming meds, and heart checks. They are all eating very well, and just amazed of their growth. They are getting into more and more sibling play, some squabbles, and such cuteness with all of them. I am very pleased with these pups.

Week 7 - 8 -- Been extremely busy with finalizing Coco's puppies and making changes for Gabi's puppies. Seemed Gabi and Coco liked the idea of sharing Gabi's puppies. The last 2 weeks with Gabi's puppies have been full duties with scheduling ear cropping and meeting some new families when finally taking them home. Gabi's puppies are super troopers. Growing very well, ear cropped on all but 3 remained to stay natural ears. Still cute either way. 2 of Gabi's pups will experience their 1st airplane ride home. Odin made his destination to Texas Oct 4th and is having the fun of his lifetime. Barrett/Rocket will join his family Oct 7th to Spokane. We hope lifelong happy companionship with Gabi's puppies. I am very proud of her being a super trooper to her babies. They are awesome pups.
